Damn that Señor. He always gets the best of me. Observe a conversation we had the other day:

Tried that, and that, oh and that...

Me: You shouldn’t have said that to my mom.

Señor: What?

Me: That I know the location of every liquor store in Atlanta.

Señor: But it’s true.

Me: It’s not!

Señor: Come on. I was kidding. She knows I was kidding. It’s not like I could just say “Name me a liquor store on Moreland Avenue” and you could do it.

Me: Moreland? Well there is Tower II…

Señor: …

A cracker is a cracker is a cracker.

What happens when a Georgia Peach marries a Venezuelan hombre? Love, culture shock, and some pretty damn spectacular fights.

Cracker is a freelance writer and fiction author fueled by gin and tonic.

Señor is a kickass journalist for a major news network who always seems to get free stuff at restaurants.

Arepas and Gravy is Cracker's attempt to make sense of what on earth she got herself into marrying a Latino (and his family, and his friends, and his culture).

Supporting Cast

Coffee is an artist, a business owner, and a tiny Colombian. Upon first meeting Cracker, Coffee told her: “You should visit Colombia! You probably won’t get kidnapped."

Frito is Señor’s best friend since childhood, when they grew up together in Venezuela. Confusingly, Frito is actually Puerto Rican and extremely proud of that heritage. He’s also (hee!) Mr. Coffee.
