3.) A Cleaning or Personal Organizing Service – Who couldn’t use a good deep cleaning in their house or a new organizational system for a room or two? Contact a local cleaning or organizing business and find out if they offer pre-paid services or gift certificates. Plus, low-income women – one of the groups hardest hit by layoffs – are starting businesses like these in droves. You could do a lot of good here – for your giftee and a local vendor.
Have you seen my apartment? I’ve obviously never utilized the services of a house cleaner or professional organizer, so I’m trusting word of mouth and the internet on this one. I would rather have recommendations from people who have actually availed themselves of these services, even if it’s just a phone number. Take your pick of these five local house cleaning services and professional organizers:
Completely Clean Homes – Serving Atlanta, Decatur, Tucker, Avondale Estates, Scottdale, Alpharetta, Marietta, Acworth, Cumming, Roswell, Ellenwood, College Park, Riverdale, Stockbridge, Lithonia, and Stone Mountain
Buckhead Cleaning – Sound a little fancy. Might be your (and your recipient’s) thing.
Atlanta Maid and House Cleaning Service – I like their FAQ and the fact that they put a price (approximately $70/per cleaning) on their site.
Green and Clean – These guys clean your home with “greenly.” They were also quoted in the WSJ. You go, local company!
Via Maid Services – Has been in business since 1991.
Personal Organizers
Clutterologist – Clever name! And the before and after photos on her homepage speak for themselves. Also, her very affordable prices are on your homepage. You can’t go wrong with knowing what you’re getting into up front.
Put it There – This business offers an ezine to help your gift recipient remain organized long after his or her personal organizer has left the building.
All Sorted Out – Even if you don’t want to give their services as a gift just yet, this home organizing company offers a free idea pack. Request it from their homepage.
Real Order – Who doesn’t want real, true order? They caught my attention with their “Cost of Disorganization” calculator on their homepage (for businesses only, sorry residents). Find out just how much NOT hiring them is costing you in the long run. And they do homes, too, of course.
Organizing for U – In business only since 2008, I chose her for this list because she has been screened by ServiceMagic, which is an Angie’s List type site.
That’s all for cleaners and personal organizers. Do you have a neat and tidy Atlanta area pro to recommend? Recommend your pro in the comments and he or she will be added to the list! (Feel free to promote yourself. If you’re awesome, you’re awesome and people should know.)
