2% of Your Facebook Friends are Actually Hardened Criminals

I made that statistic up, but it sounds good, doesn’t it? Still, check this:

In Venezuela, Criminals Use Facebook to Research Targets

After reading that article, I immediately ran to Facebook to delete any pictures that might show that my in-laws in Venezuela have valuables. The only picture I ended up deleting? A picture of their stereo.

I guess the moral of this story is, don’t be showing pictures of your awesome and valuable stuff on Facebook. So if you get an iPhone for Christmas (you know, like the one I want but can’t have because the T-Mobile Empire had the foresight enslave me with their contract) don’t post a picture of it. I might… I mean “somebody” just might rob you.
